Wednesday 26th July - bike **** Around Felixtowe including lunch with 'Emily' - sunny and warm.

The sun made a welcome return today, warm too so after breakfast it was nice to get into the garden to do my exercises while Mag potters, the garden in looking lovely at the moment with a large variety of blooms:) It looked the perfect day to get out on the bikes so I packed a picnic and we headed of at 12.20, after Mags bike accident she is very nervous on the roads so we very cautiously made our way to the footpath by the side of the Grove Park and quickly realised it was breezier than I expexted, with an onshore wind it was definitely windy enough to foil, still never mind as we had a wondeful time on our bikes:) On reaching Gulpher Road we turned left hoping to see a combine harvester somewhere sadly we did not but it was lovely to see how well the crops are coming along. We bumped along Candlet Lane before taking the footpath along the A 14 sliproad and across the fields to Falkenham Church, enjoying ou picnic with a geat view down to the Deben. It was odd biking this way round as we usually cycle it the other way round! Well rested we continue down to Kings Fleet where we have a interesting conversation with a lorry driver loading straw bails on his lorry to take to a furnace to make electrity, who knew? Up onto the Deben seawall we definitely had a head wind now as we approached Felixstowe Ferry. After a few pics of the Ferry we take the coast route back by the golf course to The Dip and around to The Fludyers, along the prom, up Bent Hill and home for a welcome cuppa. Loads of rain coming tonight and hopefully a windsurfing session tomorrow somewhere? Top day :)
